Kevin T. Shaughnessy

Kevin Shaughnessy is primarily engaged in the prosecution of U.S. and foreign patents in the mechanical, electrical and software arts.  He has experience in intellectual property counseling, and due diligence and freedom to operate studies. Mr. Shaughnessy has prepared numerous opinions regarding the patentability of inventions in addition to opinions pertaining to the infringement and validity of patents.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Shaughnessy worked for an intellectual property firm in the Boston area where involved in patent prosecution, counseling and litigation.

Mr. Shaughnessy graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in 1997 with a B.A. in history and a minor in physics.  In 2000, he graduated magna cum laude from Boston College Law School, where he was awarded the Order of the Coif.  Mr. Shaughnessy was admitted to practice in Massachusetts in 2001 and obtained his registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office in 2002.  He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
